Current Novel Page

Okay everyone, I posted the reading schedule on the Current Novel page. Please review the schedule and start reading! Our first discussion will take place this Thursday but you can continue to comment on that post until the next discussion starts (Sunday). I'll include more details on the post starting the first discussion. I hope you all enjoy the first section of our new novel! Thanks all!

Sincerely,
Elysia

Upcoming Information

So, I would post the reading schedule tonight but unfortunately I don't have much time on the computer. I will post the schedule tomorrow though. Be prepared to have the first section finished by Wednesday or Thursday. I know this may not seem like a lot of time, but the book is quite short and so is the first section. If you would like to start reading please do and I assure you I will post the schedule tomorrow. Thank you for your patience.

Sincerely,
Elysia

New Poll

Okay, so I decided to put up the new poll right away. I figure this way, there is more time for you to choose what you would like to read. We won't be reading this next book for another month or so, so you have plenty of time to vote! The choices include The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, The Portrait of a Lady by Henry James and Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger. Please take your time to investigate these novels and decide which one we should all read next! Please feel free to comment on this post with other novel suggestions.

Sincerely,
Elysia

Book Announcement

Alright, so if I had more followers I would leave the poll open for a longer amount of time. Sadly, there's just the two for now. So I am going to unveil the next novel we are going to read together! Drum roll please.....

We are going to be reading...Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck! I hope you are as excited as I am to start this!

I won't be posting the reading schedule for a while yet though. I figure this way, everyone has time to get their hands on a copy of this book. I will post the schedule up sometime next week and the following week we can start reading! I am going to create a reading schedule that covers a span of three weeks. This way, for those of us borrowing these books from the library, we don't have to worry about returning books late.

So, find a copy of Of Mice and Men and check back soon for the reading schedule!

Sincerely,
Elysia

First Choice?

As you may have noticed, I started a poll on the right hand side of this page. Please choose an answer or if you would prefer a different novel, please leave me a comment on this post. Options so far include classic novels Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde and The Portrait of a Lady by Henry James. Let me know what you think!

Unfortunately, I am currently in the middle of Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout, so we probably won't be starting this next novel for another week.

Sincerely,
Elysia

Update: Okay, I added another poll to the website. I like the way the first one looks, but I'm not sure if it works. Please feel free to vote on both polls (if you can) and please leave me a comment on this post telling me which poll type you prefer. Thanks!

Welcome!

Hello readers!

I myself am an avid reader and writer and so I decided to create this blog as a place to discuss novels. Think of it as an online book club! I will be posting a reading schedule that should be easy for anyone to follow. As we progress through the novels we read, I will be posting questions, ideas, links, anything related to what we've recently read. I invite you to submit comments, so as to really make this into a literary discussion! I also welcome suggestions of books you'd like to read in the future. Soon I will post up our first novel and include a reading schedule! Check back soon!

Sincerely,
Elysia
